The Village of North Prairie is located in southwestern Waukesha County and has a population of 2,141 residents. WI-59 runs through the village, providing easy access to nearby towns.
The state road makes traveling through North Prairie a breeze, but there is much to explore in this small town. North Prairie is home to the Broadlands Golf Club, an 18-hole, links style course that provides a challenging and fun experience for golfers of all levels. Playing 6,884 yards from the tips and offering scenic views along the way, this course is a must play for any golfer. The village also has two public parks that offer amenities such as baseball diamonds, tennis courts, and playground equipment. Both Veteran’s Park and Prairie Village Park are great places to take the kids on a nice day.
North Prairie also offers attractions not immediately within the downtown area. The Ottawa Lake Recreation Area has a campground, hiking trails, public beach, and an amphitheater for outdoor events and performances. For the perfect overnight experience, you can’t get much better than Ottawa Lake. Just to the south you’ll also find the Kettle Moraine Low Prairie and Scuppernong Prairie State Natural Areas. Both areas provide scenic trails that allow you to get in touch with nature.
